Medicine: Antispasmodic;  Aromatic;  Carminative;  Diaphoretic;  Digestive;  Diuretic;  Emmenagogue;  Expectorant;  Stimulant;  Stomachic.

Boiled, the water can be applied to wounds as an antiseptic, or drunk to stimulate digestion.

Known Hazards: The volatile oil is an irritant. Contraindicated with kidney or urinary passage inflammation. Avoid during pregnancy.
